Job Summary:

Coats product as required by print. Must be able to set up spray equipment operate oven understand cure times, identify proper paint colors to the RAL color scheme, textures, sheens. Know and understand the proper PPE and standard to meet OSHA standards and safety requirements. Be able to direct personnel on proper process, schedule work. Ensure a high-quality product is being produced. Have an in-depth knowledge of the proper cleaning process, equipment, materials and chemicals.

Major Accountabilities:

1. Works from complex blueprints processes and performs the coating operations.

2. Able to work with little supervision or directions, lead and direct other employees and apprentices.

3. Maintains a high degree of quality and productivity.

4. Schedule and organize daily workload. Direct charges as needed to complete work on time and cost effective.

5. Recommends improvements for equipment materials and process to operate a batch coating system.

6. Versatile on all the equipment and processes used within the coating process and selects the correct equipment and materials complete each task.

7. Maintains a safe working environment utilizing safety procedures and keeps all work areas clean spray booth and oven, organized, and free from debris.

8. Must be able to effectively program, set-up and operate multiple pieces coating equipment.

9. Order and maintain inventory of coating and materials and PEE to ensure the proper materials are on hand to perform daily tasks.

10. Work is free from errors or omissions, with attention to detail, avoiding rework.

11. Proper use of ShopTrak to accurately record the coating process parts completed and moved. This will include scanning on to the correct job number and operation charging out of materials used.

12. Must complete ABCO’s in house greenlined process per company quality process QP-009.

13. Mentor/supervise apprentices and/or other powder coat employees as necessary.

14. Complete other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

The working environment is generally favorable with good lighting and temperature. Work may require bending, lifting up to seventy (70) pounds. Pulling, pushing, sitting, reaching, and standing for up to ten (10) hours per day. Utilize lifting equipment and racking. Must wear personal protective equipment as required.

Minimum Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

Five (5) years of related experience.
